Artist's Statement

Brazen: Marked by flagrant and insolent audacity. Impudent; immodest; shameless. Clear and obvious, without any attempt to be hidden.

My work is an exploration of the universal experience of “being human”. I am interested in placing our inner-most thoughts out in the open for discussion: from private fears to struggles with self-worth. In a time in which the break down of the family unit, rise of technology, and emphasis on the individual are creating deepening levels of disconnection, there is a great need to re-establish intimacy in our lives; my work serves as a reminder of that need.

In the last few years I've been exploring ways to bring painting, video and other media together to tell these intimate stories in more powerful ways.
